Site Diary: what it does and how it works

The daily log of a construction site. Open a site, tap “Add entry”, mark the work and quantities, attach photos and save — on a phone that’s a few taps. There’s no need to enter the site, author, date or shift; an entry can start as yesterday’s or from a template, a draft is saved on the server and on the phone, and sending without a connection waits for the network and never duplicates. In an entry: site work with quantities (each quantity goes into “Construction: Sites” once and is recalculated on edit), company people and the number of contractor people by organization, equipment, materials (written off to the site), weather, a shift with actual start, end, breaks and overtime, issues, defects, photos, comments.

Downtime: reason, start, end, duration, contractor, area, work, consequences; a reason is written into the site’s stage only when you press the button. Entry types and country rules (required fields, custom fields, numbering, who signs) are configurable; an entry’s rules are fixed at the moment it’s created, and changing the site’s country doesn’t change old entries. A signed entry can’t be edited; a correction is made as an amendment with an author and a reason. A signature is the mark of a person with signing rights in the system, not a qualified electronic signature; the app doesn’t claim that the diary complies with your country’s legal requirements.

Weather is filled in from the “Weather” app by the site’s coordinates if it’s connected, otherwise it’s typed in. A contractor sees and writes only their own organization’s entries. The “Construction log” report for a period, with a seal. There’s no full offline work: until it’s sent, the entry and draft stay in the phone’s browser, and photos aren’t uploaded without a connection.
